2022 Membership Renewal and Board Vacancies!
Due to the many challenges of the last two years and the COVID pandemic, IMVCA has undergone many changes and had limited workshops available. However we are working on revamping the association and updating Board of Directors positions due to current vacancies. If you are interested in serving, please contact the Board for more information.
Additionally, the Board of Directors are looking at ways to continue to serve Idaho mosquito and vector abatement districts and where interest lies within our association, please keep your eyes open for a short survey!
Many of our members renew their annual membership at our spring workshops, however due to the challenges in the past year, the Board of Directors determined that all previous current memberships are paid in full through June 2022.
Renewals for membership for the 2023 calendar year will be going out at the winter meeting and via email in December 2022.

IMVCA Format for Spring Meetings
Our Spring Workshop model of holding two separate training sessions, one in Pocatello and one in Nampa, has been an overwhelming success since 2014! By holding two meetings, we are able to reach many seasonal technicians and smaller districts that may not otherwise be able to travel to a single meeting held on the other side of the state. Everyone who has attended has gotten a lot out of the classes as evidenced by the great feedback we get each year. Any feedback from our membership on the format of these meetings, as well as requests/suggestions for topics to be presented, are always welcome, just contact any Board member with your ideas.
National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
NPDES
On October 31, 2011, EPA issued a final NPDES Pesticide General Permit (PGP) for point source discharges from the application of pesticides to waters of the United States. This action was in response to a 2009 decision by the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals (National Cotton Council, et al. v. EPA) in which the court vacated EPA's 2006 Final Rule on Aquatic Pesticides and found that point source discharges of biological pesticides, and chemical pesticides that leave a residue, into waters of the U.S. were pollutants under the Clean Water Act (CWA). As a result of the court's decision, NPDES permits are generally required for these types of discharges as of October 31, 2011. For all the latest on the NPDES, you can go to the EPA's website:
